Mr. Bucketlist takes a trip to Octomom’s Garage Sale

The sale was promoted on radio, television and newspaper. It created a sort of “the circus is coming to town” atmosphere, so I jumped at the opportunity to rifle through Octomom’s personal belongings.

The guy running the garage sale was apparently some radio deejay called “Tattoo,” though I’d never heard of him. I think he got the nickname because he has a big tattoo across his forehead, but that is just a guess! Her sales force of meandering homies tried to make her personal items seem more important than they actually were. “This is the couch that Nadia was sitting on when she found out that she was pregnant with eight babies,” they stated proudly.

The highly-coveted item seemed to be the bikini Octomom wore for the cover photo of Us Magazine after she lost all her pregnancy weight. My personal favorite item was the Autographed Nursing Bra (I kid you not!).

Octomom apparently came out of her house occasionally during the day, but not while I was doing my shopping. I wanted to buy something, but not spend a lot of money, and I couldn’t wait around any longer for my “celebrity” spotting, so I eventually decided on a Baby’s First Words picture book. I asked “Tattoo” how much for the book and he set the price at one dollar. I dropped my dollar into their cash register (which was actually a brown paper grocery bag… classy & secure!)

As I walked backed to my car I figured that my dollar divided equally between herself and her 14 kids came out to about six-and-a-half cents each. It felt good to do my part to assist this family during their time of need!
